Fabscarte
Three decorative paper panels realised with a very sophisticated artisanal technique: on a special paper, on which an image had been previously printed, various patinas have been applied to specific parts, hand-painted with coloured dusts. Several layers of tissue paper have been applied as well, along with stucco and canvas decorated with metal powder.
Francesco Simeti
Francesco Simeti lives and works in Brooklyn. He is well-known for his site-specific installations created with wallpaper, sculptures and video. Simeti takes pictures from newspapers and magazines, digitally modifies them, and creates patterns associating a strong visual appeal with a more critical aspect, thus raising questions on the real nature and role of this kind of imagery in contemporary society. He has realised site-specific installations, reinterpreting public spaces, such as the 18th Ave Bensonhurst Brooklyn subway station, or a school hallway in New York. His works are part of the collections belonging to several institutions, like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and Palazzo Riso in Palermo.
Fabscarte
Fabscarte is a Milan-based atelier producing hand-painted wallpaper. Emilio Brazzolotto and a group of master craftsmen with twenty years of experience in mural decoration are the starting point for Fabscarte, a workshop constantly experimenting with new techniques and materials. It has become a brand of high craftsmanship based in Milano. The Fabscarte team looks for inspiration in nature and art to create handmade wallpapers that combine matter, texture and colour in unprecedented ways, giving a new language to interior design. Each step in the creation of the precious wallpaper is completely hand-crafted, from the preparation of the paper support to the pictorial decoration. Thanks to the custom-made service, the atelier provides tailor-made solutions for any environment, thus personalising it through these works of art.
