Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayón was born in Madrid in 1974, and speaks a creative language which is unique but highly recognisable and internationally acclaimed. After studying industrial design in Madrid and Paris, in 1997 he enrolled in Fabrica, the design and communication academy founded by Benetton where he went on to run the design department until 2003. His precious, imaginative, playful approach blurs the confines between art, decoration and design, impregnating everything he creates whether its furniture, products, interior design or artistic installations. He founded Hayón Studio in Valencia in 2001, and has successfully worked alongside top-flight furniture brands such as B.D. Barcelona, Cassina, Fritz Hansen and Magis; he creates light fittings for Parachilna, Metalarte and Swarovski, and sophisticated artworks for Bisazza, Lladró and Baccarat. He has also designed the interiors of many hotels, restaurants, museums and shops worldwide. His works have been displayed in personal exhibitions in the world’s leading galleries and art and design fairs. Wallpaper placed him in its Top 100 list as one of the most influential creators of the last decade, and Times magazine heralded him as a "visionary" and creative icon.
