Sabine Marcelis is a Dutch designer who lives and works in Rotterdam. After graduating from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 2011, she began to work as a freelance in the sectors of product, display and spatial design. Her research is characterised by a marked attention to materiality and a predilection for pure forms, which bring out the qualities of the material. Her aesthetic point of view has always been very strong and personal and she intervenes in the manufacturing process, experimenting with the material and introducing innovations in order to arrive at new and surprising visual effects. Sabine sees her designs as true sensory experiences and not just static works: experience becomes function, with a refined and unique aesthetic.

Since 1967 Stylnove has operated as a contemporary artistic factory, a magical meeting point between artists and ceramics, in a region in which this tradition has its deepest roots: Nove (Vicenza). Some of the richest collections of the past were merged to form the original nucleus of the ‘Collezione d’Arte Giovanni Zanovello’ (the name of its founder), kept and displayed at the Museo della Ceramica in Nove. Here can be found historic works of the highest prestige and artistic level that represented the starting point for Stylnove. Today the company, under the direction of the brothers Franco and Lorenzo Zanovello, draws on this tradition, combining it with an innovative and modern production.Out of the fruitful encounter with Sabine Marcelis for Doppia Firma has come a very contemporary collection of outdoor lamps in which the most up-to-date  design is happily wed with time-honoured craftsmanship.
