“I spent 15 years in the fashion industry before turning my hand to pottery. I have a love for all things fabric, especially embroidery. So, it was an honour for me to work with a craftsman specialised in high-fashion embroidery. I wanted to design and craft a piece with my own hands that would reflect my world, incorporating the exceptional work of Pino Grasso Ricami’s embroidery atelier. For this piece, I drew inspiration from primitive works and costumes adorned with beads and fringes. Primitive art inspires my work in general, and this project allowed me to express that inspiration more fully. It was a real pleasure to discover and work with Raffaella’s team, who were always very attentive to my wishes and requests. Collaborations are always very enriching; they open your mind and give you new desires and ideas”. (Elisa Uberti)
“We were very proud to take up the challenge of this collaboration, and I think the result demonstrates the excellent feeling and synergy that has been created with Elisa. In so many years of working alongside a great master, my father Pino, I have learnt the taste for experimentation and getting involved, to always create something new and beautiful, going beyond the boundaries of known and usual practices. I am delighted to collaborate with this very creative and sensitive designer, who has been able to bring out the value of our now rare and complex know-how, with great mutual satisfaction. We have already worked for Doppia Firma, it is always a beautiful confrontation between design and craftsmanship”. (Raffaella Grasso)
