ANAMORPHOSIS

The bottle was formed by the metal- spinning technique, then soldered and highly polished. The bird was hand- painted on paper by Atelier Lachaert Dhanis, then digitally converted to obtain the distorted image; next, a second watercolour painting was done with the aid of the mirroring bottle, a loupe and a 4-haired paintbrush. Piet Stockmans then transferred the painting on to a thin, round porcelain disk.
