BISHOP APPLE BLOSSOM

Designed in 1999, the Bishop Apple Blossom stool has become one of India Mahdavi’s most iconic pieces. The Lavender Apple Blossom shown here was born from her collaboration with the Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy – an ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ – when she decided to dress up her Bishop stool all over in their patrimonial floral pattern. Enamelled by hand using the drop-by-drop technique and then fired at 750°, the Bishop Apple Blossom is ‘the haute couture of design’.
