CONTREFORT

Inspired by the architectonic buttresses of buildings, the garden bench is a work cast in bronze where is experienced the contrast between soft materials like wax and clay, translating them into solid cast shapes. The “Plantahof Auditorium” by the Swiss architect Valerio Olgiati, based on the theme of the buttress and balance, is an important source of inspiration. The tilted pilaster which apparently supports the whole building is a fascinating element, which the designer interprets as synonymous with a balancing game. The master craftsmen of the Fonderia Artistica Battaglia have used all their extraordinary expertise to cast the piece and make the patinas.
