Dispositivo armonico: Aquiloni della pace

The kite is a symbol of peace and harmony. It requires care and attention to make it fly: one must learn to read the wind, listen to it and wait for just the right moment. This is how these harmonic devices come into being:  slowly, as a practice of gentleness and attentive listening. It is a delicate game in which time and care become essential to flight: you wait for the wind, welcome it, and surrender to the gust while holding the thread firmly in your hands. 
The mandala-like motifs, painted with carefully built layers of colour and material, capture the eye and invite concentration. They evoke a form of silent meditation, a deep awareness. Like a blossom opening, the centre becomes the point towards which everything moves: the centre of ourselves, of thought, of love.

“What particularly interests me in the work of Fabscarte is their exploration of colour and their desire to give a three-dimensional presence to paper as a material. Working with your hands means accepting a beauty that is never exactly the same: you can sense the hands, the shifts of the brush, the subtle variations in every layer of colour.
