HERCULANEUM

Herculaneum is a sculptural piece which captures the evocative power of fragments of walls from ancient sites in Italy, which have preserved their marble finishes and frescoes. A small piece of an architectonic composition that has survived can induce the imagination to create designs which are far more exotic than those that could really have existed and Ercolano does just this, alluding to a hyper-sensual ceramic architecture of delicate hues and fluid shapes, a monument to the exquisite perfection of Italian craftsmanship, alluded to through this small contemporary ruin.
