THIS IS NOT A FRUIT BOWL :-)

The work is a perfect example of the joyful and playful approach adopted by Supertoys Supertoys, often inspired by space voyages and science fiction: a porcelain limited-edition collector’s piece, imbued with the strange appeal and simplicity displayed by many of the objects designed by the Dutch-German duo. Together with StudioZAND, the designers have created an extravagant object combining function and decoration which plays with a child-like imagination, somewhat resembling a marshmallow-hued alien that has just landed in our midst. An object with a potent, disorienting presence because it is not what it seems, as the authors remind us with the very name of the piece which brings Magritte to mind.
