In praise of hands

Screen printing is a sophisticated artistic technique that foresees a progressive ink transfer onto a substrate, thus creating (thanks to a squeegee moved across the screen) evocative, extraordinary graphic effects. To transform into screen prints the five illustrations for Henri Focillon’s book In praise of hands, soon to be published in limited edition, a delicate succession of operations has been necessary: transferring Giampiero Bodino’s poetic traits into a print required a peculiar attention in every phase of the process. The screen prints have been realized in a limited series of 20 four-colour screen prints per drawing.
