The project was born among the forms, colours and patterns which were found during strolls in Caltagirone, Sicily, admiring colourful steps, columns and the decorated capitals of magical cloisters. These echoes and evocations from the past have given shape to these “Resti” (Leftovers / Remains), a formal synthesis of beauty and decadence. The five volumes are stools and chairs, and have been crafted on a lathe; they have then been decorated by hand on a second firing, according to an ancient and precious technique, reviving the “full” decoration of this extraordinary territory. The title is an allusion to the remains of the past, whose echo revives here along with the idea of staying, of dwelling in a beloved place.
