SILVER SHOT

The two coffee cups are realised with the traditional technique of silver-thread working. The project was born with the aim of making the everyday gesture of sipping coffee very special: the coffee cup becomes like a jewel for the hand, made precious by the polished or matt finish and its allusion to a setting for gemstones. The pattern has a double role, both decorative and functional: it allows one to avoid direct contact with the cup, which contains the hot beverage. The metal thread, in brass or silver 925, stretched by hand and mounted on a shape that allows it to become a well-defined net, is fixed with silver soldering. The structure thus obtained is then shaped to form the desired curve lines, with a double torsion. In such a petite object, so many refined excellent maneouvres!
